The wet season in Zimbabwe and Botswana is from mid November to mid June, while the dry season is from April to October. During the wet season, the falls are at their fullest and most impressive, but activities like bungee jumping and white water rafting may be limited due to high water levels. Explore lesser-known destinations with Zimbotsa Travel. Our expert guides will take you to hidden gems and off-the-beaten-path locations that are not on the typical tourist itinerary. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a family holiday, or an adventure-filled trip, we have the expertise and resources to make your dream holiday a reality.
There are good reasons to plan your trip in January and February, which is a period known as the green season, in Africa.
The rainy season in Africa is nothing like what people in the northern hemisphere are used to in their autumns. No constant drizzles or downpours, but often a refreshing and welcoming thunderstorm in the evening after a warm and dry day. It’s actually a really good time to visit.
During the dry season, the falls are less full but still spectacular, and activities like bungee jumping and white water rafting are readily available. Embark on a thrilling wildlife adventure with Zimbotsa. Witness majestic creatures in their natural habitats and indulge in exciting outdoor activities. Even when the water levels of the falls are low, you will have amazing panoramic views and the opportunity to spot numerous rainbows above and in the middle of the falls.
The hottest months are September to November, with temperatures around 90-100°F. Between December and April, the weather is hot and humid with temperatures around 85 °F, and in the remaining months (May to August), you can expect approximately 75 °F. Overall, the peak season with the most visitors ranges from May to September.
Apart from sunscreen and lip balm, bring some skin moisturiser. Especially if you’re from a ‘softer’ climate, African conditions can be harsh, making you feel as though your skin is suddenly a few sizes too small.
